Determining Performative Action vs Real Intention

What is real and what is performative? 

True intentions and colors always come out in the wash. And with the latest Grammy debrief, I think the conversation around the artists being celebrated (and taking advantage of the spotlight) and those who have to work harder to get the same recognition, ring familiar… 

Remember the summer of 2020 when companies were keen on hiring for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging roles, committed to making their organizations psychologically safe and welcome, particularly in response to the racial injustice in America?

Well it's been about three years since and many of those roles have gotten cut. Why? 

Today, we have my friend and former co-worker, Talent and Diversity Equity Inclusion and Belonging Executive Brittnee Rock, on the podcast to discuss this.
