Working with Aries Season Energy
Welcome to Aries season!
Normally the ingress of the sun into Aries is a time of bold action, fresh starts, and amplified energy. It’s the astrological new year - Fortune favors the bold as they say!
But this Aries season is riddled with planetary containment. Mercury and Venus are retrograde for a good portion of this season (Mercury goes direct April 7th, and Venus, April 13th) and we need to get the Solar Eclipse out of the way on March 29th.
What does this mean for you?
The mantra that’s been kicking around in my head is “the more you rail against the problem, the more you become entangled with it.”
You can see this applied to everything from our political to our astrological climate…almost as if quick sand was the big deal the culture of the 90s made it out to be.
So given that Aries is a sign with a bias towards action, let’s focus on what we CAN do during this time.
Aries Solar Eclipse:
The Aries-Libra eclipse series, which started in April 2023 culminates on March 29th, indicating a powerful cycle coming to a close.
How will this impact you? You can look at this two ways (and both for extra points)
Look back at the dates of the eclipses and reflect on what was going on for you. Looking at your gcal or wherever you keep most of your data will provide the most memory jogs.
April 20, 2023; October 14, 2023; March 25, 2024, and October 2, 2024
Look at the houses in your chart that Aries and Libra rule. These are the areas that have received the most attention during this eclipse cycle and they will be opposite one another.
For example, if you’re an Aquarius rising, Aries most likely rules your 3rd house of daily communication, close village, and siblings, and Libra rules your 9th house of higher learning and travel abroad. Have you had any major insights in those areas? Any limiting patterns to break free from? Now would be the final piece of information to complete that learning.
As I’m sure you’ve seen in your perusal on the topic, eclipses carry intense and unpredictable energy, and it's essential to approach new projects or decisions with caution and reflection. Considering Mercury and Venus are still retrograde at this time, use this time to OBSERVE but avoid rushing into any decisions or commitments. Remember, eclipses are transformative and may bring sudden changes, so stay adaptable and trust the process.
And while it isn’t an eclipse, the Full moon in Libra on April 12th will hold powerful culmination energy as well as it opposes the sun conjunct Chiron in Aries. This will give you a final stamp of approval on the information you’ve gathered in the last couple of years, now ready for processing and healing.
Mercury Retrograde:
Mercury is retrograding until April 7, 2025. It will be RX in Aries until March 29th (the same day as the eclipse!) and will slip back into Pisces afterward.
You already know that during this period, you can expect potential miscommunications and delays, particularly around impulsive decisions. Take extra care with emails, contracts, and travel plans.
But did you know that you CAN use this time to:
Revisit and refine ideas rather than launching new ones
Look at your strengths and opportunities for personal growth
Go through a quarterly or yearly review period for your team
Do your taxes
I have a few clients at big companies who are going through review periods right now by mere happenstance - we love to see it.
Venus Retrograde:
Venus is retrograde until April 13 - it will be in Aries until March 27th and then fall back into Pisces.
You probably are already aware that you shouldn't get your hair cut or make any drastic changes to your appearance during a Venus RX.
But here's what you CAN do:
Reassess your spending habits
Do a core values exercise for making better decisions moving forward
Do your taxes
And therefore, in conclusion, if nothing else…
you should probably do your taxes.
