How to Apply the Law of Attraction to Negotiation
You've heard about the Law of Attraction, this law is integral to manifesting, consciously or unconsciously.
But since this is an intuitive business platform, and Taurus season helps us focus on our core values (and yes, cash money,) let's get creative and apply this law to the Art of Negotiation.
The simplest boiling point of this Universal Law of Attraction is “Like attracts like." I think most of you would agree this feels all well and good when its a new shiny thing, like a brand new home, car or even a round of funding. We deserve it! But what's usually BEFORE that new home, car or million dollars? Negotiation.
OK cool, so we have done the inner work to attract what we need, including being clear with what we want, believing we deserve what's on the table in front of us, and even taking action steps to bring ourselves closer to the outcome we desire. All that's standing in the way is some terms that create a mutually beneficial deal for both parties involved. Let's use the car as our example:
What's always helped me is to see the person I'm negotiating with as a partner to me, like two sides of the same coin, instead of my adversary. This way, I try to find what we have in common, in this case it's a car that the dealership would like to sell and I would like to buy. There's a price (always negotiable) and there are terms that can sweeten the deal for either party. If I can pay cash and drive it off the lot today, that may be most attractive to a salesperson at the end of the month, one deal away from a sick commish (yes our salesperson Chad talks like a Ninja Turtle! Part of his charm!?) So maybe I get to pay a little bit less than what's listed on the sticker, because the deal means more in April than it does in May when Chad starts out with a clean slate.
If like attracts like, then there's a way to look at the person who holds what you want (or vice versa) as operating at a similar frequency to you. This empathic approach can really ease what can be seen as scary or a lack of control as a more empowering experience. What if we're more similar than different? What if there's a commonality here that we can find together? What if we both win?
